Are you new to stamping?  Have you looked at a Stampin' Up! Catalogue and been completely overwhelmed?  Want to start a stamping hobby, but have no idea where to start or what you need?  If any of this sounds familiar, you've come to the right place.
My name is Jennifer Kostiuk and I am an independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator, but more importantly I would love to be your guide to help you discover your creative ingenuity and help lessen that overwhelm and get you confidently crafting sooner than you think!  I love making cards and creating projects for those special people in my life and I absolutely light up inside when I watch the expression on their face as they open up a card that I have made just for them or they unwrap that special album or framed art piece that I created especially for them!  And because I love it so much, I want to bring those same feelings of joy to you
I have come up with a short step-by-step guide that walks you through how you can create your own crafting kit, no matter what your end project(s) is/are.  To receive this FREE pdf guide, all you have to do is sign up for my weekly newsletter here and the link to the pdf guide will be sent immediately to your inbox.  Or if you prefer, you can keep reading and I will walk you through the process in a bit more detail.
Easy-to-Follow Guide to Creating a Customized Simple Crafting Kit

As a beginner stamper/crafter you are excited about the endless possibilities as you flip through your Stampin’ Up! ® catalogues and are probably overwhelmed at the same time!  Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced stamper/crafter, here is an easy-to-follow step-by-step guide to create your own customized crafting kit.

Step #1:  Consider what type of projects you would like to create with your kit.
Are you going to be making mostly cards?  If so, what kinds of cards – birthday, sympathy, thank you, thinking of you, Christmas, Halloween, etc?  Are you more interested in scrapbooking or memory albums?  Maybe you want to make some home d├ęcor pieces for yourself or friends/family members?

Step #2:  Choose your favourite Designer Series Paper (DSP)/patterned paper you want to showcase in your projects.
Your options can be found on Pgs 148 – 150 of the 2020 – 2021 Annual Catalogue as well as on Pg 84 of the January – June 2021 Mini Catalogue.

Step #3:  Choose coordinating colours you love for your Cardstock.
In the description of the Designer Series Paper, Stampin’ Up! ® has listed a number of different colours that coordinate perfectly with each stack of patterned paper.  I would recommend choosing 2 -3 of these colours for your cardstock or any colour that you love and depending on your budget, you may wish to purchase all of the coordinating colours to build up your inventory quickly.  All of the colours offered by Stampin’ Up! ® can be found on Pgs 142 – 143 of the 2020 – 2021 Annual Catalogue.  If you’re stuck, I would start with the coordinating colour choices Stampin’ Up! has paired with the DSP you have chosen.

Step #4:  Choose coordinating colours you love for your Ink Pads.
To make coordination of your project a breeze, you may wish to choose the same colours as you chose for your cardstock or you may choose completely different colours.  The choice is 100% yours as it is your customized kit.

Step #5:  Choose your Stamp Set/Bundle.
When choosing a stamp set or bundle, here are some things to consider:
·         The nature of your project
·         Versatility of the stamp set
·         Coordinating dies (if you own a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine or are considering purchasing one, this is important)
This is a highly personal choice and with the wide range of styles to choose from in the Stampin’ Up! ® catalogues, I believe you will find a stamp set(s)/bundle(s) to suit your needs, no matter what your end project is.

Step #6:  Choose your colouring method (if applicable).
If you have chosen a stamp set with outline images, you may wish to colour them in.  Stampin’ Up! ® offers many options to do this:
·         Water Painters, Sponge Daubers, Blender Pens or Blending Brushes to be used with your ink pads (Pg 147 of the 2020 – 2021 AC and Pg 70 of the January – June 2021 Mini Catalogue)
·         Watercolor Pencils with Water Painters (Pg 144 of the 2020 – 2021 AC)
·         Stampin’ Blends (Pgs 142 – 143 of the 2020 – 2021 AC)
·         Many Marvelous Markers (Pg 144 of the 2020 – 2021 AC)

Step #7:   Choose your Embellishments.
This can be anything and everything from ribbon to gems to jewels to pearls (options can be found on Pgs 156 – 158 of the 2020 – 2021 Annual Catalogue and Pg 86 of the January – June 2021 Mini Catalogue).
