Are you new to stamping?  And to Stampin' Up! products in particular?  Maybe you've seen a couple of projects online, such as cards or framed home decor pieces that you would love to create yourself, but had no idea where to start?  If this sounds like you, you've come to the right place!

I've been stamping for over 15 years even though I've been a demonstrator for a little over a year (however, this is my second time as a demonstrator).  As I started growing my customer base and expanding my team, I realized one thing - the Stampin' Up! catalogues are extremely difficult to navigate, especially for new stampers/crafters.

My goal is to help bridge that gap for you.  To take away some of the overwhelm.  And to guide you to what supplies you need to get started stamping.  And if you want, I will then slowly introduce you to the other tools as you gain confidence and master simple stamping techniques.

My first suggestion is to do yourself a favour and save yourself some money by ordering the Starter Kit.  As with any hobby, there are tools and supplies that you absolutely must have on hand to start stamping.  The Starter Kit offers you the BEST deal in the catalogue and you will get discounts on future product purchases as long as you remain in active status (just ask me if you want me to explain what this means).

The Starter Kit allows you to choose $165 in products and you pay ONLY $135!  There is no shipping and no tax on this amount.  From time to time, there are added bonuses for purchasing the Starter Kit.  From now until February 28, 2021, if you purchase the Starter Kit you will also receive six packs of 6"x6" patterned paper valued at $94.50 (I am more than happy to share more details about this bonus, please just contact me).  Basically for the next 2 weeks, you will get nearly $260 in product value and pay only $135.

Enough about that, here is what I really want you to focus on.  The following is my recommendation of what you should put in your Starter Kit if you're a beginner and new to stamping.  You're more than welcome to switch out any items, as long as your product total is $165 or less.

I am now going to walk you through what each of these items are, so you understand what you are getting when you order this Basic Tool Kit for Beginners.

Heat Tool (Us And Canada)
[129053]
$41.00

Paper Trimmer - this comes with both a cutting blade and a scoring blade (useful to score fold lines in your card base to get a nice crisp fold or for making 3D objects such as treat holders, etc).

Heat Tool - needed for heat embossing.  This was one of the first techniques that wowed me as a beginner and it's still one of my favourites today!  Used with embossing powders, it makes your stamped image shiny in silver or gold.  Also available in clear and white.

Clear Blocks D and H - these are the most common blocks that you will need for mounting your stamps.  Other block sizes are available, but these 2 different sizes will be enough to get you started.  Just a note when ordering your stamp sets, if the description states that you need a Clear Block F or Clear Block I, your stamps will not fit on the D or H block as they are too small.  Smaller stamp images will fit on these blocks, but not larger ones.

Classic Stampin' Spots Assortment - these little ink pads are perfect as it gives you an assortment of 8 colours to get you started - Basic Gray, Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green, Real Red and Shaded Spruce.

Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad - this is a black ink pad.  Essential in every stampers' collection.  The memento ink is also good for using with Stampin' Blends as it won't bleed with the alcohol ink.

Versamark Pad - this is like glue for using with the emboss powders and the heat tool.  You stamp your images with versamark, apply the powder of your choice and then heat with the heat tool.

Simply Shammy - this is a quick and easy way to clean the ink off of your stamps before changing colours or putting them away.  It's a foam pad that you keep damp.  When it dries out, just run it under the tap until it's squishy again and squeeze out the excess water before using it again.

I want to reinforce that this is just my recommendation for a beginner stamper.  You may already have some of these items in your supplies, so you would want to switch those items out for other tools - perhaps more ink pads, cardstock/paper, envelopes (if you're a cardmaker), etc.

If you have any questions or need help ordering your Starter Kit, please do not hesitate to contact me.  If you click here, you will be redirected to all of my contact information and can easily send me an e-mail or find my other contact information.  If you're all ready to place your Starter Kit order, please click here.  You will be redirected to my Join My Team page. Don't let this alarm you.  By buying the Starter Kit, you become a demonstrator - this allows you to buy your future products at a discount and you are under no obligation to sell Stampin' Up! products to others unless you want to.  Again, just contact me if you have questions or maybe you are interested in the business side of being a demonstrator.  I'm here to help you on your crafting journey - whatever that looks like for you!
