Butterfly Bouquet Blog Hop

I wanted to take part in Kylie and Bruno's Butterfly Bouquet Blog Hop, so I played around with this new bundle.  Please make sure you click on the links below my project to see all of the beautiful projects other demonstrators in the training program have created and for lots more inspiration using the Butterfly Bouquet products.

I created a couple of different cards, but this one was my favourite!  I started out with a Rococo Rose card base (am really loving this colour, so trying to use it as much as possible before it soon retires!).

I layered on a piece of Basic White.  On a strip of Sahara Sand, I stamped using Sahara Sand ink the full butterflies.  I then trimmed it down to 2" and placed the remainder inside the card to decorate it a little bit.

I used the medium die and cut out a butterfly with the Love You Always foil sheets.  I also used the new rococo rose pastel pearls as embellishments on the front.  The label is punched out of rococo rose using the Label Me Fancy punch.  The "I Miss You" sentiment is from the Art Gallery bundle, is stamped in Sahara Sand and is die cut with the coordinating label die.

I also die cut one of the smaller butterflies out of the Love You Always foil sheet and put in on the inside - you can see it peeking out of the following pic.

Flower & Field DSP Meets Tailored Tag Punch

I created this card for a friend to send her some happy mail (we can all use a little cheering up from time to time).  I had seen other demonstrators using punches to create backgrounds and I thought the Tailored Tag punch has such a unique shape to it that it would make an interesting background for a card - I believe I was right lol!

If you have limited stamping supplies, this is a perfect card to make as you could actually recreate it with zero stamping involved!  I punched out multiple tags with the Tailored Tag punch out of the Flower & Field DSP and then adhered them to a piece of bumblebee cardstock measuring 5" x 3-3/4", being careful to line them up as best as I could.  I then cut off the pieces that were hanging over the edges.  I then adhered this to a larger piece of bumblebee cardstock measuring 5-1/8" x 3-7/8", so you just get a slight bumblebee edge showing all around.  I then adhered this piece to a cherry cobbler card base.  If you don't have a sentiment stamp that you like, why not just write your greeting on the front?  How special is that to use your handwriting to decorate the front of a card that you are giving to someone special?  I just happened to have a stamp set with an appropriate greeting, so I did stamp the "You're my person" and if you're curious, it is from the Lovely You stamp set in the Annual Catalogue.

Now, just one more tidbit to point out to you - the Flower & Field DSP is a SALE-a-bration item and is only available until February 28, 2021.  And the beauty of it is you earn it for FREE with a $60 product purchase (before shipping & tax).  You don't want to miss out on all of the beautiful projects you could make with this paper.  And if you're not a big fan of flowers or the flowered patterns are too busy for you, the reverse side offers gorgeous non-floral patterns for your projects.

And if you purchased the supplies listed below to make this card, you would qualify for the FREE Flower & Field Designer Series Paper - just saying 😉

A Birthday Card for a Special Friend

I wanted to create a birthday card for a special friend - she's actually been my mentor for the past year and without her guidance and positivity, I would not be where I am today!

I chose to use A Touch of Ink stamp set - it's a Level 2 SALE-a-bration item that you can earn FREE with a $120 product purchase (before shipping & tax) until the end of February - less than 2 weeks left!  I wanted my card base to be fairly subtle, but not white so I chose Soft Seam Foam and paired it with a layer of Merry Merlot (in one of the pictures you can see that this was dry embossed with the Painted Textured 3D Embossing Folder).

I wanted the hummingbird to be feeding off of a hibiscus flower, so I dusted off my Timeless Tropical stamp set and the coordinating In the Tropics dies from the annual catalogue and made myself a hibiscus!  I first stamped my Crushed Curry inkpad onto a scrap piece of white cardstock until I was happy with the colour.  I stamped the flower image with the Saddlebrown Stazon ink.  I then took my blending brush and very lightly rubbed it in the Merry Merlot ink pad and then tried carefully to brush the ends of the petals.  For the leaf, I used Old Olive ink and again stamped the ink pad directly onto a scrap piece of white cardstock and then stamped the image with the Saddlebrown Stazon.  I cut out both images with their coordinating dies.

For the hummingbird, I stamped in Black Memento on a piece of white cardstock and then coloured in using the dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blend as well as the Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends Combo for the body.  I fussycut the hummingbird with my paper snips and popped up with dimensionals on the front of my card.  For a final touch I did add a bit of wink of stella to the flower as well as the hummningbird, but unfortunately my camera didn't pick it up.  In real life, they both have a gentle sparkle to them.

Are Those Saskatoons or Blueberries? I'll Let You Be the Judge!

I was playing with the Berry Blessings and the Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper, and I can't decide if those are saskatoon berries or blueberries!  I love them both!  My Grandma's saskatoon pie is one of my favourites and a handful of fresh blueberries is making my mouth water right now just thinking about them!

My project for you today features the Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper and the stamped sentiment is from the Berry Blessings stamp set.  This is a Level 2 SALE-a-bration product, which you can earn for FREE with a $120 product purchase (before shipping & tax).

I chose the "blue" berries pattern and if you flip it over you will be surprised to find a beautiful blue weave pattern on the back!  I used both in my project!  The card base is Pacific Point - such a vibrant blue!  I coloured the open-weave ribbon that is part of the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack with a Night of navy blend (or you could use a marker) to give the card a bit of contrast.  It looked bare to me so I put a small bow using the crinkled seam binding ribbon (I know I've said this before but it's worth repeating - if you have trouble tying bows like I do, this ribbon is for you.  It is super easy to tie bows with this ribbon and this is coming from a non-bow-tying person!!)

The Darling Donkeys Are Just That....Darling!

It's very rare that I case a card from the catalogue and I don't really know why!  I always admire the cards and quite often the reason I purchase the stamp set is because I love the projects they showcase in the catalogue, which makes me fall in love with the products they used to make that particular project.  With the Darling Donkeys, I decided to case (and for those of you not familiar with that term it means Copy And Share Everything or Copy And Selectively Edit).

In my project, I used Just Jade as my card base and layered it with the Just Jade DSP (designer series paper/patterned paper) from the 6" x 6" 2020 - 2022 In Colour DSP.  I then used the Misty Moonlight, Bumblebee and Magenta Madness strips from the wood-grain pattern pieces.

And for the highlight of the card, that Darling Donkey, I stamped him in Black Memento and then used my blends to colour him in.  Gray Granite for his tuft of hair, end of his tail, muzzle and his hooves and Crumb Cake for his body.  The rose I coloured in using Melon Mambo and Shaded Spruce for the stem.  The sentiment is from the stamp set and is stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock and then I just snipped it down to size, putting a flag on one end and popping it up with dimensionals.  For embellishments I used the 2020 - 2022 In-colour enamel dots.

If you haven't placed your order yet to earn FREE SALE-a-bration items, I encourage you to do so sooner than later.  Products can potentially sell out and once they are sold out, they will no longer be available and we are coming to the end of SALE-a-bration.  Less than 2 weeks left, so get your orders in so that you get what you want!
