Simple Card using Poinsettia Place Suite

If you popped over yesterday, you will have noticed that my blog post was part of a blog hop!  My very first hop EVER!!  If you didn't get a chance to see it, please take a look at my October 12th post as there are so many talented demonstrators that participated in yesterday's training blog hop.  Very exciting for all of us, as many of us were first time hoppers!

I finally had to relent and start showcasing Christmas projects - I held off as long as I could!  For this week, I am focused on the Poinsettia Place Suite Collection (August - December 2020 Mini Catalogue, pg. 14 - 16).  This is such a lovely collection of products.  If you don't have a poinsettia stamp set or if you're looking to replace an existing one, I would certainly take a second look at this set.  You can either stamp the poinsettia images first and then die cut them or you can just die cut out the poinsettia as the set allows you to emboss and cut out the shapes.  I think the second one is my favourite as I love the dry embossed look for the flower and the leaves.

For today's project, I used the designer series paper to "pretty" up my card.  I chose one of the poinsettia patterns and layered it against a Garden Green piece of cardstock and then layered that onto one of the more subtle patterns found in the pack.  I die cut out a couple of the berry shapes in Bumblebee and Soft Suede (both coordinating colours in this collection).

I chose the "Warm Wishes from our Home to Yours" greeting, stamped it in Soft Suede on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, cut it out with a stitched nested label die and popped it up with a couple of dimensionals.  And I almost forgot, I used the banner triple punch for the poinsettia patterned paper and garden green layers.  I love how easy this punch makes it to layer.

To me, this is a relatively simple card to put together as there is minimal stamping.  Yes, there's a few pieces involved, but there is nothing overly complex.  I know that most simple cards have minimal layers, but to me this one has very simple layers.  The great thing about this template is that you can choose any of the different patterns from the paper pack and get completely different looking cards!
