Nothing's Better Than Card

I honestly don't know how I haven't pulled out this bundle before now to play with it!  It was part of my very first order when the new Annual Catalogue went live and I'm just making projects with it now.  We've missed so much precious time together, but we've found each other at last, so it's all good lol!  So, today was Coffee's turn.  Can you guess what tomorrow will be?  You're allowed to look back at the previous day's posts - I won't tell.  When I first went down into my craftroom this morning and pulled out all of the coffee pieces, I wasn't very enthusiastic as I thought I had already used up the best part of this set - Cocktails and Chocolate - need I say more?

I looked at my prior projects and saw that I had used pinks and purples for those ones and so wanted to avoid getting too "girly" with this card's colours.  I turned to the Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper as I wanted to stay with the bold tones and the colours in this pack of paper are bold and bright - exactly what I was looking for.  I quickly narrowed it down to the green and blue tones and immediately went for the pattern you see in the picture as I liked the streaks of Night of Navy in it and chose that as my card base.  I wanted to keep the contrast there, so I layered a piece of Granny Apple Green.

And the rest of it just kind of came together.  I will admit I did cheat - the punches for the "You're Just Like" sentiment and "You Make Everything Better" are retired.  I hang onto my retired punches though as you never know when they will come in handy - case in point.  The circle is die cut with the Stitched Shapes dies (a definite staple die set for me) and the coffee mug is stamped on Whisper White cardstock in Night of Navy and filled in with Granny Apple Green.  I die cut the coffee mug out and popped it up with dimensionals onto the Coastal Cabana circle.  There are 2 hearts, one in Granny Apple Green tucked behind the Coastal Cabana heart.  I stamped the 2 bottom corners on the inside of my card as well as the corner of the envelope (they need to feel dressed up too!).  And yes, I cheated again and used a strip of retired braided linen thread from the last mini catty.  It just worked so I used it.

And I nearly forgot, the Coffee lettering is die cut out of the gorgeous glimmer paper.  Hopefully my pictures are a bit clearer and not as dark as they have been so you can see the detail better - I've been playing around with some different lighting and I think I finally found something that works.  Will have to remember and thank Scott for his suggestion and remind him that his light has now been confiscated and is lost somewhere in the abyss known as my craftroom.

Thank you so much for visiting my post today.  If you're like me and are attracted to the brighter colours, I think you will enjoy this card.  If the pastels are more your speed, you will probably find this card a bit obnoxious colour-wise.

If you're convinced that you need this bundle, I have included a list of supplies below and you can just click on any of the images and it will take you right to my online store where you can shop for these project supplies or any other current products that Stampin' Up! offers.
