Simple Beautiful Friendship Card

Hello!!  Welcome to my FIRST EVER blog post!  I'm very excited to have this platform to share my projects with you.  I have spent several weeks tweaking my blog template and I am happy with how it has turned out so far.  There will be many changes in the future I'm certain, but for now this works.

Today I wanted to share with you a simple card using the Beautiful Friendship stamp set.  As many of my customers/followers are new to stamping, I am going to focus my blog posts each week on a single stamp set/bundle/suite.  I want to showcase how versatile Stampin' Up! stamp sets are.  By just changing up the colours and sentiments, you can completely change the look of your card/project.  This week's focus is the Beautiful Friendship stamp set found in the 2020 - 2021 Annual Catalogue.

For this particular card, I started with a whisper white card base (a full sheet of card stock cut in half at 4-1/4" and then scored on the long side at 5-1/2").  I then cut a second piece of whisper white cardstock measuring 4" x 5-1/4").  Using the largest flower image, I stamped on the smaller piece of cardstock in so saffron, cleaned my stamp and then stamped again slightly off the first image in flirty flamingo.  It actually created an orange colour where the images overlap and where they don't, you can still clearly see the so saffron and flirty flamingo colours.  I then stamped the smaller flower image in so saffron and flirty flamingo and overlapped these colours on one of the images.    The flower centers and spiky images are stamped in real red.  The leaves and sentiment are stamped in granny apple green.  The pink rose buds off to the side are stamped with flirty flamingo and granny apple green.

I then simply adhered the smaller piece of cardstock to my card base and voila! you have a card!!  I then stamped a smaller flower on the corner of the inside of the card and I decorated the envelope the same way (not pictured here).

I love the brightness of these colours!  What do you think?
